About Pedigree

What Pedigree is

Pedigree is a public index of the people who materially created products and features. It connects a company to a specific product and then to the individuals whose work on that product can be supported. The aim is practical: give builders durable credit, help curious people trace the lineage of work they admire, and make product history easier to explore.

The catalog is intentionally about shipped work rather than general employment. A person appearing at a company is not enough. Pedigree looks for a concrete relationship to the named product, such as designing, engineering, researching, evaluating, or otherwise shaping what reached users.

How the catalog is made

Entries are assembled through evidence-backed editorial research and then reviewed before publication. The public preview contains only the resulting company, product, person, and profile-link records. Research notes, evidence dossiers, and unresolved candidates are not published as part of the catalog.

The index is selective, not exhaustive. Public evidence can be incomplete, roles can overlap, and a missing name is not a judgment about someone’s contribution. Corrections and first-hand contribution reports are welcome through the contribution form on the preview page or by email through the contact page.
